Karl Schatz & Margaret Hathaway

Margaret Hathaway and Karl Schatz are the author and photographer of five books on food and farming including The Portland Maine Chef’s Table: Extraordinary Recipes from Casco Bay, The New Portland Maine Chef’s Table: Extraordinary Recipes from the Coast of Maine, The Food Lovers Guide to Maine, and The Year of the Goat: 40,000 Miles and the Quest for the Perfect Cheese. When not gathering recipes, they can be found leading goat hikes at Ten Apple Farm, their agritourism & hospitality business in Gray.

Don Lindgren

Don Lindgren is an antiquarian bookseller specialized in printed and manuscript books about food and drink. His bookselling business, Rabelais Inc., acquires, researches, and sells rare books, manuscripts, ephemera, and other materials related to culinary history. He has served as a Governor of the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of America and is a member of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. He has lectured or presented at the Oxford Symposium on Food & Cookery, the Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar, and the Rare Book School’s Boston Seminar. In 2019 he published the first part of a multi-volume exploration of the American community cookbook, titled UnXld: American Cookbooks of Community & Place.

Ashley Halsey

Ashley Halsey is an illustrator, graphic designer, and art director living in Portland, Maine. She grew up on a farm in Connecticut where she spent time observing and painting the nature that surrounded her. After living in New York City and working as a book designer for over six years, she moved to Maine. Ashley has illustrated and designed numerous books over the years, including Beautiful Songbirds. When she's not in her studio designing books or painting, Ashley loves baking, taking her dog, Milo, for walks, and exploring new places. Find out more at www.ahalsey.com.
