We want to hear about your family recipe and family food history!

Two volumes of the Maine Community Cookbooks are out in the world, and we are continuing to collect your family recipes and food stories! Why? The simple answer is we love them so much! It’s been so wonderful learning about so many different Maine family food traditions, we just can’t stop. We’re hoping to do a third volume of the cookbook at some point down the road (most likely 2025 or 2026), and in the meantime we’re working on a number of related projects that include recipe sharing and storytelling. We’re working on a series of in-person community suppers that will take place all across the state in 2023, and will include live storytelling! Sounds like fun? We think so! And as we get ready for these new and exciting projects, we want to know what recipes or food traditions mean something to you, and the story behind them!

So make sure to tell us about your recipe! We want to know the story behind your recipe, about your family, and why this particular recipe connects you to people and places here in Maine.

Please note: If you are submitting a scan of a recipe card, please also type out the recipe in full into the form including the list of ingredients and instructions. If you are submitting multiple recipes or stories, please submit each recipe/story separately. Thank you!

Before filling out the form and submitting your recipe, story, photos, or other materials, please read our submission terms and conditions. And if you have any questions, visit our FAQ, but also don’t hesitate to email us!
